Stephen P. Robbins received his Ph.D. from the University of Arizona. He previously worked for the shell Oil Company and Reynolds Metals Company and has taughtat the University of Nebraska at Omaha, Concordia University in Montreal, the University of Baltimore, Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, and San Diego State University. Dr. Robbins; research interests have focused on conflict, power and politics in organizations, behavioral decision making, and the development of effective interpersonal skills. His articles on these and other topics have appeared in such journals as Business Horizons, California Management Review, Business and Economic Perspectives, International Management, Management Review, Canadian Personnel and Industrial relations, and Journal of Management Education.

Dr. Robbins is a best-selling textbook author in the areas of management and organizational behavior. His books have sold in excess of three million copies and are currently used by students in more than a thousand U.S. colleges and universities, and have been translated into16 languages.

Dr. Robbins also actively participates in masters' track competition. Since turning 50 in 1993, he has set numerous indoor and outdoor age-group world sprint records. You could really just go with the previous version

After I rented this book, my professor said that we could've just gone with the previous version (6th Edition) because it contains the exact same information with negligible changes to the content. Would've been nice if the professor mentioned this before I rented the book and saved me some money, But glad Amazon rents textbooks and very comparable prices.

I agree with this book

The reason I say that I agree with this book is because a majority of this book that informed of what I should do as a supervisor was what I would have already done in that situation so for me the only things I learned from this book was the technical terms for what some things were called and some laws involving ethics. this means to me that either A this book is filled with relatively common knowledge or B I would just make an awesome supervisor because my instinctual thought process gives me all the right answers. I would recommend renting this book before you make the decision of buying it. I wont be buying this book because laws and technical terms was the only thing it helped me with in that case I believe I can find a better book but if you need help deciding what to do as a supervisor then perhaps this book is meant for you.

Wow! This is a powerful message.

If you struggle with not recognizing your own worth or knowing in the core of your being that you are loved beyond measure by your Heavenly Papa you need to read this book!

Leif helps the reader to have a proper view and understanding of God and God's heart. If we view Him correctly, we can better understand His heart and His view of ourselves. Then we can embrace our true identity and walk in the fullness of our inheritance. We can see ourselves and others; including our enemies through Heaven's eyes and we can impact our world with the Father's love.

We were created for a purpose. As you read this book, you just might hear Papa God clarify things you have been wrestling with and pondering all your life. The way Leif writes is illuminating. It has a way of drawing the reader into the greater story God is writing, and allows him/her to dialogue with God Himself to discover the reality of the message.

Amazing! Just what everyone needs!!

Believe it or not, but the title of this book was whispered in my ear one day. I had come to a dark place in my journey and Leif's testimony breathed hope back into my heart. I am forever grateful to God to leading me exactly where I needed... to know that He never left me and that in the midst of all the pain, sorrow and anger was the death of my old self to transform into the new creation I am in His Son Jesus Christ. Thank you thank you Mr. Hetland and may the glory of the Lord continue to fall upon you to rescue the lost and encourage the fallen. God bless and see you on the other side of Heaven my brother.

John Galsworthy was a Nobel-Prize (1932) winning English dramatist, novelist, and poet born to an upper-middle class family in Surrey, England. He attended Harrow and trained as a barrister at New College, Oxford. Although called to the bar in 1890, rather than practise law, Galsworthy travelled extensively and began to write.

Best book on classroom management I have ever read (and implemented)!

This book has transformed my classroom. My students are 5th graders and they have responded very well to the concepts in the book. The concepts are simple and yet far from what I was using before. I have so much more freedom to teach and students want to learn. I have one of the best classes I have ever had in over 20 years of teaching...I think it is me not the students. Set the standard, practice it and stick to it. It really is that simple. No reward system, no candy or prizes to buy, no disrespectful behavior and the list goes on. I bought this book at the end of one of my worst years, then read it 3 times over the summer (it is a quick read). I wanted the information to sink in, then I began to implement it on the first day of school. I'll never return to a rewards system again. This is all about personal responsibility and respect for all. Give it a try if you are a teacher that was as frustrated as I was!! So helpful. Thank you Michael for your wise words.

Great Tool for the Classroom

The book doesn't give you a classroom management plan. A book couldn't and absolutely shouldn't create something like that for you. Rather this book presents a clear plan for how to enforce rules to make your classroom function for education rather than focusing on behavioral issues. It's unbelievably helpful. I'd recommend this book to any teachers; veteran, first year, or anywhere in between.

Succinct but not Formulaic

I am in my second year of teaching high school and found this book via the author's blog. While I have learned much of this through experience, the author is able to describe management techniques practically and simply. I also found this book much more personable than other books that consists of classroom management "formulas." I'm not sure how much of this I could have just gotten from reading the blog, but I am very happy with my purchase.

Very nice... many unique perspectives (details)

Here we have an extraordinarily beneficial approach to the summarization of a war. Kirchberger's book includes multiple devices to the unveiling of various facets of the hugely tragic World War I.

Primarily, there are very personal first-hand accounts (letters, etc.) of the assorted events, mostly written contemporaneously with particular battle activities. Second, there are "political summaries" which manifest informative and straightforward historical accounts that describe what happened at the various stages of the war. Third, the "fronts" are outlined to present the larger picture perspective of who was fighting whom, when, where, and how. Fourth, there are biographies (and quite often black-and-white photographic portraits) of the principal players of the war's leadership on both sides. Finally Kirchberger presents us with a chronology, relevant detailed maps, and all the essential documents which are associated with this war.

Kirchberger's multi-faceted approach makes this particular book markedly valuable as a source document for generating scholarly and academic papers on the topic. One can also "cherry-pick" those items of particular interest as a means of reading the book. I've never actually seen another history book assembled in quite this manner.

I think if one was simply looking for the straightforward story of how World War I transpired, there are probably better options such as: A Short History of World War I. There is also a tremendous video media resource [DVD] which is quite revealing and infinitely entertaining to boot: Fall of Eagles.

I don't mean to imply that Kirchberger doesn't offer up a "prelude" to the war because, in fact, he does. Specifically in regard to World War I, comprehending its genesis is integral to appreciating the peculiar politics of the subsequent widespread conflict. But in Kirchberger's case, so much information is provided to the reader that one doesn't quite know where to begin unless s/he already has a pretty fair grasp of the particulars.

This 1992 book runs 402 pages and I think its best features are the personal letters and the detailed maps. If it's not a good introductory work to understanding World War I then I can at least highly recommend it for anyone who is seeking the minute details and newly-published information as well.

This book is the first dedicated to the role of visual perception in aviation, and it provides a comprehensive, single-source document encompassing all aspects of aviation visual perception. About the Author
Colonel Randy Gibb has served in the United States Air Force since 1986 after earning his commission and Bachelor of Science degree as a Distinguished Graduate from the United States Air Force Academy. He has flown more than 3,400 hours in the following aircraft: Instructor/Evaluator pilot Northrop T-38 Talon, Instructor/Evaluator pilot Lockheed C-5 Galaxy, Instructor pilot T-3 Firefly, Aircraft Commander Learjet C-21, Instructor/Evaluator pilot Raytheon Beechcraft 400 T-1 Jayhawk, and Instructor T-52 Diamond 40. Colonel Gibb's graduate education includes Master of Science in Engineering, Industrial Engineering - Human Factors, Arizona State University, 1996, Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies, Naval Command and Staff College, Newport RI, 2000, and a PhD in Industrial Engineering - Human Factors, Arizona State University, 2007. Col. Gibb had two flying unit commander positions: he led the 84th Airlift Flight, Peterson AFB, C-21 unit as well as the 99th Flying Training Squadron, Randolph AFB, T-1 unit. He is currently an Assistant Professor and Deputy Department Head, Behavioral Sciences & Leadership Department, United States Air Force Academy teaching classes in human factors, engineering psychology, and introductory psychology. Rob Gray is an Associate Professor and Department Head in the Department of Applied Psychology at Arizona State University. He obtained his M.S. and Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology from York University, Canada. After earning his Ph.D. he worked for three years as a Research Scientist with Nissan Research & Development conducting research on driving safety. Since 2002 he has worked as a part-time Research Psychologist with the U.S. Air Force working primarily on flight simulator design. At ASU he directs the Perception & Action Laboratory which investigates visual cues used by pilots for tasks such as landing and low-altitude flight. He has authored 36 journal articles, 17 conference papers, and 7 book chapters. In 2007 he received the American Psychological Association (APA) Distinguished Scientific Award for Early Career Contribution to Psychology and the APA Division 21 Earl Alluisi Award for Early Career Achievement in the Field of Applied Experimental & Engineering Psychology. Lauren Scharff is the Director for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning and a Professor in the Department of Behavioral Sciences and Leadership at the United States Air Force Academy. Prior to that she was a Professor in the Department of Psychology at Stephen F. Austin State University, where she worked since 1993. She completed her Ph.D. in Human Experimental Psychology (Visual Perception) in December, 1992 from the University of Texas at Austin. She teaches introductory psychology, research methods, biopsychology, and perception courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and has won several teaching awards. Her research interests have included depth perception, visual search, text readability, and the human factors of web site design, although her students continually shift her research efforts to new directions. She has also collaborated with researchers at NASA-Ames Research Center to create a metric to predict text readability, including conditions that apply to head-up displays.
